Milling company to build facility for non-G.M.O., organic items
07.26.2017
The new facility will feature grain processing equipment dedicated to making non-G.M.O. products and organic oilseeds.
GREAT FALLS, MONT. — Montana Specialty Mills, L.L.C. on July 25 broke ground on a new $20 million, 20-acre processing center in Great Falls that will feature grain processing equipment dedicated to making non-bioengineered/non-G.M.O. products and organic oilseeds. The facility should be completed by the fall of 2018.
Montana Specialty Mills chose to build the facility in the Great Falls Montana Development Authority’s AgriTech Park, which offers rail access and proximity to the Great Falls International Airport.
“We chose our new location in the AgriTech Park because it has the infrastructure, subdivision and zoning already in place for us,” said Steve Chambers, president and chief executive officer of Montana Specialty Mills.
Montana Specialty Mills, based in Great Falls, contracts with producers and processes and markets oilseeds and other grain-based products. The company operates several storage locations, an expeller process oilseed plant in Great Falls, and a mustardseed and grain processing plant in Conrad, Mont.
