Recent frozen treat introductions include bars, pops and more.
Better-for-you dessert maker Enlightened launched a new line of frozen Greek yogurt bars.
Available in caramel brownie and mint and cookies flavors, the bars are the latest addition to Enlightened’s low-sugar offerings. Each bar contains 3 grams of added sugar, 5 grams of protein, 80 calories and both prebiotic and probiotic benefits.
Blue Bunny has partnered with stuffed marshmallow-brand Stuffed Puffs to launch a frozen dairy dessert sandwich, which will be available at retail in May 2023. The new sandwiches are available in classic s'mores and salted caramel s'mores flavors, and "taste like nights around the campfire," according to the company.
GoodPop introduced a line of oat milk-based fudge bars, which features four flavors: fudge n’ vanilla crunch, double chocolate fudge, fudge n’ caramel crunch and mint n’ fudge chip.
“We love reinventing classic nostalgic favorites with better-for-you ingredients, which means they have a much shorter, cleaner ingredient list and are allergen-friendly, but without sacrificing taste,” said Daniel Goetz, chief executive officer and founder of GoodPop. “With our new frozen dessert bars, we saw an opportunity to recreate another range of classic ice cream favorites with better ingredients that are delicious and good for both people and the planet.”
As part of the partnership between Blue Bunny and Stuffed Puffs, the companies also debuted a line of marshmallow-filled frozen dairy desserts under name Scoopables. The Scoopables are available in three flavors: s'mores, cookies and cream and birthday cake, and are formulated with mix-ins, including graham crackers and chocolate chunks, chocolate cookie pieces and yellow cake pieces with sprinkles.
Halo Top, a Wells Enterprises brand, added a line of frozen yogurt pops to its portfolio of better-for-you frozen desserts. The frozen yogurt pops are formulated with Icelandic skyr-style yogurt, granola and fruit, including blueberries and strawberries, and are an extension of Halo Top’s frozen fruit pops line that debuted two years ago.
Coffee retailer Reborn Coffee, Inc. joined the frozen aisle with coffee-inspired ice cream. The ice cream is available in four flavors: Cold brew, alcohol-infused mocha rum and bourbon vanilla and non-dairy coconut cream.
Blue Bunny, a Wells Enterprises brand, added frozen Mini Bars to its line of miniature treats. The dairy desserts combine swirls of flavor with a cookie crunch coating to create a convenient, snack-sized bar. Initial flavors include vanilla caramel crunch, chocolate cookie crumble and strawberry shortcake.
Unilever North America is introducing a variety of Reese’s branded ice cream and frozen dessert products. Formats include an ice cream sandwich, light ice cream, mini pieces light ice cream, frozen dairy dessert, frozen dairy dessert bar, frozen dessert cup and cones. The cones come in packages of eight and are available in two varieties — peanut butter cones and chocolate cones.
Van Leeuwen added seven flavors for spring, including a Hidden Valley Ranch flavor. The Ranch-inspired ice cream features buttermilk, herbs and “a touch of sweetness,” formulated to complement salty snacks.
The other new flavors include a sweet maple cornbread, that features maple ice cream with pieces of honey cornbread. Blood orange chocolate chip includes swirls of blood orange and dark chocolate chips. Carrot cake is made with cheesecake ice cream and pieces of carrot cake. Strawberry shortcake is comprised of cold-ground vanilla, strawberry jam and pieces of shortcake. Honey graham cracker makes use of brown sugar ice cream, pieces of graham cracker pie crust and swirls of honey. Limoncello cake delivers sweet brown sugar cake with lemon ice cream.
Mondelez International, Inc.’s Oreo brand is expanding its frozen treat portfolio with the permanent addition of Mint Oreo ice cream. The frozen treat features a mint ice cream base blended with pieces of Oreo cookies. Oreo first introduced its Oreo Frozen Treats line last year with the launch of Oreo ice cream, Oreo ice cream cones, Oreo ice cream sandwiches and Oreo ice cream bars. Although Oreo had partnered with frozen novelty brands in the past, the company did not have its own branded frozen treat line until this launch.
Perry’s Ice Cream rolled out a line of flavors that the company said features “chuck-full-of-stuff” recipes. Each of the 13 flavors comes with an “Extra Indulgent” stamp on the package and Perry’s shared that the new products were formulated to encourage consumers to stop and indulge.
My/Mochi revealed some of the new products it plans to roll out this year. The company, which produces ice cream snacks wrapped in sweet rice mochi dough, added a line of smoothie-inspired flavors, including strawberry banana and mixed berry.
Swedish-style, better-for-you brand N!CK’s launched a line of novelty ice cream bars. The bars are low calorie, low in net carbs and contain no added sugars, and are available in several flavors, including Mint Choklad, Salta Karamell Swirl, Peanot Choklad Krunch, Strawbar Swirl and more.
Dippin' Dots and J&J Snack Foods' Icee brand have partnered together to launch Dippin' Dots in Icee's blue raspberry and cherry flavors. Available in pouches, the beaded ice cream features cherry red and blue raspberry dots. The Icee-inspired Dippin' Dots can be purchased direct-to-consumer at Dippindots.com.
