LOS ANGELES — Plant-based chicken producer Daring Foods has launched its first line of frozen entrees.
The meals are aimed at health-conscious consumers seeking convenient and easy plant protein options. Daring’s gluten-free entrees contain 16 grams of protein, between 350 to 460 calories and are ready to serve after less than four minutes in the microwave.
“We’ve always been on a mission to transform the category by offering delicious plant-based options that embrace diverse tastes and dietary preferences,” said Ross Mackay, founder and chief executive officer of Daring. “Our latest frozen entree bowls represent a significant step forward in redefining plant-based cuisine while staying true to our commitment to authenticity and simplicity.”
Each frozen entree features one of Daring’s unbreaded chicken alternatives, formulated from soy protein concentrate, and varieties include:
- Daring x Fly By Jing Fried Rice Plant Chicken Bowl — a spicy fried rice-inspired meal with white rice, peas, carrots and Daring’s Original Plant Chicken topped with Fly By Jing’s Sichuan Chili Crisp sauce.
- Spicy Fajita Plant Chicken Bowl — a white rice bowl with roasted peppers and onions, a spicy fajita rub and Daring’s Cajun Plant Chicken.
- Teriyaki Plant Chicken Bowl — a blend of broccoli florets, Daring’s Teriyaki Plant Chicken and teriyaki sauce on a bed of white rice.
- Harvest Plant Chicken Bowl — a mix of brown rice, kale, roasted sweet potatoes, Daring’s Original Plant Chicken and a chimichurri sauce.
- Penne Primavera Bowl — a gluten-free pasta option with peas, roasted peppers, zucchini and Daring’s Original Plant Chicken.
