LOS ANGELES — POM Wonderful’s liquid pomegranate extract POMxL is now Upcycled Certified. POMxL is made from the upcycled rinds of pomegranate fruit.

POM presses whole pomegranates to produce its pomegranate juice. After the pomegranates are pressed, the crushed rinds are pressure extracted and concentrated, which produces a liquid extract, the company said.

POMxL may provide benefits such as sugar reduction and sodium reduction in formulations and enhances color, flavor and texture while adding antioxidants, according to the company.
