NEW YORK — Icelandic Provisions is putting a plant-based spin on skyr, an Icelandic cultured yogurt product. The company is introducing oat milk skyr, which it says is the first and only of its kind in the world.
Featuring Nordic oats and heirloom Icelandic cultures, each cup of non-dairy Icelandic Provisions Oatmilk Skyr is made with more than four cups of oat milk. The skyr contains 10 grams of protein and 8 to 9 grams of sugar per 5-oz cup.
Single-serve, 5-oz cups of Icelandic Provisions Oatmilk Skyr come in five flavors: vanilla bean; raspberry; mango passionfruit; mixed berry, made with strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries; and cold brew coffee, made in collaboration with Te & Kaffi, a family-run Icelandic coffee roaster. The 17.6-oz multi-serve tubs are available in plain and vanilla bean varieties.
Icelandic Provisions Oatmilk Skyr will be available nationwide in June at Whole Foods Markets.
