CARLSBAD, CALIF. — Mamma Chia is moving into the plant-based milk alternative market with the launch of Mamma Chia Organic Chiamilk. The dairy-free beverage contains 800 mg of omega-3 fatty acids, zero grams of sugar and more calcium than a glass of traditional milk, the company said. Available in unsweetened original and unsweetened vanilla varieties, the chiamilk contains 60 to 70 calories per serving and is U.S.D.A. certified organic, Non-GMO Project verified and vegan.
“More than ever, consumers today are craving plant-based food and beverage choices, so we lovingly crafted this recipe to give consumers a non-dairy milk option with exceptional nutrition and a taste that outperforms other alternative milks in the market,” said Janie Hoffman, founder and chief executive officer of Mamma Chia.
Mamma Chia Organic Chiamilk will be available in 28-oz bottles beginning in March at Sprouts Farmers Market and other natural food stores. Additional retail expansion is expected throughout the year.
