VILLENEUVE-D’ASCQ, FRANCE — The Bonduelle Group said it has begun discussions with Seneca Foods Corp. to acquire the latter’s frozen products packaging plant in Lebanon, Pa.
The plant was built in 2008 and was acquired by Seneca Foods in 2010 as part of its acquisition of Unilink, L.L.C. and its affiliated company, Lebanon Valley Cold Storage, L.P. It has 7 packaging lines that have a capacity of 45,000 tons.
The transaction is expected to close in the next few weeks.
Based in France, Bonduelle owns five brands of canned, frozen and fresh vegetables with a presence in 100 countries around the world. The company in 2017 acquired Ready Pac Foods, the Irwindale, Calif.-based producer of salads and fresh-cut produce, expanding its presence in the United States.
