Campbell Soup recalls certain Pepperidge Farm Goldfish crackers
NORWALK, CONN. — Campbell Soup Co. has become the latest company to recall products over Salmonella fears linked to whey powder from a third-party ingredient supplier, recalling 3.3 million units of its Pepperidge Farm Goldfish crackers on July 23. The four recalled varieties are Flavor Blasted Xtra Cheddar, Flavor Blasted Sour Cream and Onion, Goldfish Baked with Whole Grain Xtra Cheddar and Goldfish Mix Xtra Cheddar + Pretzel.
The recall includes a wide selection of packaged Goldfish crackers, including 6.6-oz bags, 30-oz cartons, 11-oz resealable bags, 12-count 0.9-oz single-serve snack packs and 20-, 30- and 45-count snack pack boxes.
“Pepperidge Farm initiated an investigation and, out of an abundance of caution, is voluntarily recalling four varieties of Goldfish crackers,” the company said. “The products were distributed throughout the United States. No illnesses have been reported. No other Pepperidge Farm products in the U.S. are subject to this recall. “
In addition to Goldfish crackers, other grain-based foods that have been voluntarily recalled due to the potential presence of Salmonella linked to the whey supplier include certain Ritz Cracker Sandwiches and Ritz Bits products distributed by Mondelez Global L.L.C., a division of Mondelez International, and Swiss Rolls and Captain John Derst’s Old Fashioned Bread produced by Flowers Foods, Inc.
